Nodegrid OS Upgrade Path

Nodegrid OS Upgrade Path

Due to the increased size of newer Nodegrid OS images, it is important to go through an intermediate version if upgrading from an older, smaller version.  The intermediate versions that increase the boot partition size to meet these newer requirements are Nodegrid OS v4.1.6 and v4.2.4.

Note that units shipped/formatted with 3.2 has a partition sda4 with 1.5 GB. If an upgrade to 4.2.4 is done the partition sda4 is resized to 2.8 GB.  If an upgrade to 5.2+ is done via USB (with format) or the install script detects an error in the HD, the entire HD is formatted and a partition sda4 with 5 Gb is created.  This will cause the partition sizes to vary slightly based on upgrade path used.

The tables below detail the recommended upgrade paths.  First find the table associated with the current version.  Then find the line related to the desired upgrade version.  This line will indicate if an intermediate version is recommended and which intermediate version to use.
