How to: Backup a Nodegrid device using ZPE Cloud

ZPE cloud enables managing on-demand and scheduled backups of your Nodegrid devices. 

  1. Login to ZPE Cloud
  2. Go to Devices :: Enrolled
  3. Select the devices you want to backup and then click Backup. You can backup multiples devices at once. 
  4. Select the File Protection
    1. None: Backup file will not be encrypted.
    2. TPM Encrypted: Backup will be encrypted using TPM key and it cannot be opened outside of the device.
    3. Password Encrypted: Backup will be encrypted using file protection password, when enabled on the device.
  5. Select the File Storage
    1. Temporary: File will be overwritten if it is the oldest file and the device's limit of 5 backups is already reached.
    2. Persistent: File will not be overwritten by any other backup.
  6. Select the schedule when to run the backup, on the 'Apply' option.
    1. Now: the update procedure will start right after you click Save button.
    2. Schedule: You can select the day and the hour of the device update. You can make your backup Recurrent on a hourly, daily, weekly or monthly basis. 
  7. Finish the set up clicking Save.

To Backup a Nodegrid device, it is important to ensure that the necessary firewall rules are in place to allow traffic to and from the ZPE Cloud services. Note that backups with File Protection type as 'Password Encrypted' require File Protection enabled on the device, otherwise the Backup will fail.
